Educator of the Month

Cera Marsh
Lakeview Academy

Cera Marsh is a devoted educator at Lakeview Academy, an independent college preparatory day school in Northeast Georgia. One afternoon in October 2007, Cera and her husband received a long awaited phone call letting them know it was time to take custody of a two-month-old baby girl. Leaving abruptly to fly out of state for the adoption left little time to prepare substitute lessons.

Fortunately, Lakeview Academy had implemented DyKnow software. DyKnow allowed Cera to keep in touch with her classes, teach remotely, provide template lessons for the students to complete and, at the same time, support and grow the family she loved. When Cera returned to the classroom she was curious if the students felt confident in the materials presented via DyKnow. Politely they shrugged and responded, “It’s like you were here, but you weren’t.”

With DyKnow, students were able to stay connected to course material and Cera was able to embrace both of her passions: teaching her students and caring for her family.
